The second day in Mexico City started as authentic as the first one.
Omars parents took us to eat Barbacoa. This is lamb meat cooked very slowly and very long in an earthen oven filled with very hot stones. You then eat the finly sliced meat in tacos and with different salsas - njami!
After a loooot of Barbacoa we went to visit the anthropological museum of Mexico City. There you could see all the treasures of the old Mexican cultures such as the Azteks, the Mayas and the Teotihuacan. The pieces on display are truly impressive and just to give you an idea on how big the museum is; we were there for around 4,5 hours and we did by far not see everything.
Unfortunately, we had a bus to catch. The night bus that would take us to Puerto Escondido in the upcoming 12 hours.
Well, let's say the bus ride was as good as a 12h bus ride could be but the reward for this trip was truly splendid.
Getting up this morning, this is what we see from our balcony:
This leaves us just to thank the family Bressa-Ramirez for their incredible generosity of hosting us, showing us the most beautiful places in Mexico City and feeding us like only Mexicans (and maybe Italians) could do!
Muchas gracias para todo!
